On a somewhat less significant level, I don't recall if I mentioned that evening at the Bois de Boulogne about our bike boxes which I'd sliced and diced, wrapped in plastic, sealed with duct tape and stashed outside the airport near a bus stop hoping they'd not be noticed. 30 days later, we returned to CDG, I searched out my hiding place and VOILA! there was my package! Alice and I reassembled them with duct tape, enclosed our bikes along with a half dozen well-cushioned bottles of Bordeaux's finest and thus saved ourselves 40 euros at the airline counter for new boxes. Bon voyage indeed!
